At approximately 2330, Engine 511 was dispatched to Box 1123 for a reported car fire at the Best Western Hotel on Balls Ford Road. E511 responded and arrived on scene with fire showing from the engine compartment of a pickup truck in the parking lot, exposing a nearby vehicle.

E511's crew stretched a handline and knocked the bulk of the fire down quickly, then worked to open the hood to overhaul the vehicle. Fire damage to the locking mechanism made the use of a circular saw off T511 necessary to gain access.

The fire was extinguished and E511 went ready at 0010.
